IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS
for Megaphones & Cheer Boxes

PLEASE READ:

BEFORE I PAINT: Your Megaphone or Cheer box MUST be PRIMED AND PAINTED with a base coat. Your base coat should be completely dried before dropping it off with me.

Ask your cheer coach if they want the inside spray painted and any other important restrictions or must haves.

Do not attach the handle to the megaphone till after you have sprayed it with your top coat. Tape off the metal mouth part.

MAKE SURE YOUR SPRAY PAINT SAYS:
Paint + Primer

Read the spray paint instructions very well! Do not spray multiple heavy coats before each coat has dried.

Recommended Spray Paint + Primer:
  • Rust-Oleum 12oz Painters Touch 2X Ultra Cover Spray Paint
  • Krylon 12 oz. Fusion All-In-One Spray Paint

Megaphone Prep

I suggest doing a light sanding over the entire megaphone before spraying it, this will help with chipping even though you will be using a spray paint with primer. (Use a very fine sand paper)

AFTER I PAINT YOUR MEGAPHONE OR CHEER BOX: You are responsible for sealing your megaphone or Cheer Box, after I have painted it. Any Clear top coat will work (Fast drying , Non Yellowing). Some girls like glossy, some like satin and some like matte finish. It is your preference. The top coat will help protect the paint as well as make the colors pop! Spray the bottom of the megaphones extra well, it does help prevent chipping. With that being said, the way the girls use these megaphones you will have paint chip off, even with a protective sealant. Once your megaphone is dry attach the handle. Do not store in a bag / cover for at least a week or till your megaphone no longer feels tacky.

Save your can of clear top coat for when I do touch-ups.

Recommended CLEAR TOP COAT:
  • Painter's Touch Ultra Cover 2X Enamel Spray Clearin any finish Matte, Satin or Gloss

PROTECT YOUR MEGAPHONE DURING THE SEASON!

I HIGHLY recommend that you store your Megaphone in a soft bag with a drawstring. I have a contact her name is Myra and she makes megaphone covers. She lives in Lake Forest. Please ask me for Myra's numbers.
Never place your megaphone inside a cover or bag if it is wet from rain, it can make your megaphone paint peel off.
